This past weekend, I took a trip down to Stockton, California for a Single-A Minor League baseball game between the Stockton Ports (Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics) and the Fresno Grizzlies (affiliate of the Colorado Rockies).
The game took place at Banner Island Ballpark, and has been the home field of the Ports since 2005.

The ballpark itself might not be a big venue, as the seating capacity is just over 5,200; but the atmosphere makes up for it as attendees of the game are often very friendly, and the Ports organization do a good job keeping the crowd involved during the game.
But there would be no victory by the Ports for me to witness, as the Grizzles grabbed the win with a 13-6 final score.
Despite the loss, Ports fans were treated to a spectacular fireworks show after the game.
I have to give a special shoutout to some of the attendees who sat in Section 110 behind home plate with me; we all had fun cracking jokes as we watched the ballgame.
I live in Vacaville, California, which is just over an hour’s drive away to Stockton; but I would definitely make another trip to Banner Island Ballpark to catch a Ports game.
Here are some photos I took at the ballpark.
