In three days, the San Francisco 49ers will kick off their 2023 NFL campaign by venturing out to the Eastern time zone to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And despite a 10 a.m. Pacific Time start which is known to be a problem at times for West Coast teams, the 49ers are favored by -2.5 with the over/under being 41 according to BetMGM Sportsbook.

From top to bottom, there is no reason why this current 49ers roster can not represent the NFC in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII.

And while I do like the chances for the 49ers to be successful this season, that doesn’t mean I don’t have any small concerns.

For starters, the whole Brock Purdy/Trey Lance/Sam Darnold quarterback saga along with defensive end Nick Bosa’s holdout (more on that in a bit) were huge distractions.

And then there are questions regarding whether or not rookie kicker Jake Moody can fill the huge void free agent kicker Robbie Gould left; or can right tackle Colton McKivitz be an effective every down starter on the offensive line.

Here are my thoughts with the 49ers going into their Week 1 match-up with the Steelers.

And that finally brings us to Bosa.

A few hours after I posted my video, I found out Nick Bosa and 49ers finally saw eye-to-eye and struck a deal.

The deal is reportedly worth five-year, $170 million, with $122.5 million guaranteed; making Bosa the highest paid defensive player ever.

Some may say that’s the type of deal only given to quarterbacks in the NFL, but the fact Bosa is that big of a difference maker proves that he’s worth every cent.

Naturally, I had to follow up my last video with a Nick Bosa update. Here are my thoughts.
