My favorite video game of all time is Street Fighter II because it was a game my friends and I played as teenagers back in the early 90s.

I started playing in the summer of ’91 at 16 years old.  I was horrible at first, but slowly got better the more I played. My favorite character to use was Ken Masters.

If you’re familiar with the Street Fighter franchise, then you know there are a few variations of Street Fighter II (i.e. Super, Turbo, etc.). The first version had eight playable characters; while the upgraded versions added the four bosses as additional options for a total of 12.

Between the summer of ’91 and ’92, my friends and I had a habit of hanging out at the old Rod’s Pizza in town taking turns playing Street Fighter. It was simpler times indeed.
